At Metropolitan Galleries, we are deeply humbled to have been chosen to create a custom bronze sculpture honoring the lives lost and the heroic acts of first responders during the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Commissioned by the Town of Ocean Isle Beach and the Coastal Carolina First Responders Association, this monument stands as a lasting tribute to unity, resilience, and remembrance.
The design of the sculpture is a symbolic composition: the Twin Towers rise with solemn strength, mounted atop a bronze Pentagon, with the New York City skyline nestled between. Each element represents a piece of that fateful day, and together, they serve as a powerful reminder of how our nation came together in the face of unimaginable loss.
This sculpture was crafted not only to commemorate the nearly 3,000 lives lost but to honor the countless first responders—firefighters, police officers, EMS, and civilians—who risked and gave everything to save others. It reflects the enduring spirit of courage and compassion that continues to inspire our communities today.
Located in Ocean Isle Beach, this tribute will serve as a place of reflection, remembrance, and gratitude for generations to come. We are honored to have played a part in this meaningful project, and we extend our deepest respect to all who serve and protect.
As we reflect on September 11th, may this sculpture remind us of our shared humanity, and the strength we find in standing together.
